Sounds interesting but c’mon… is it really as good as you say it is?

Yes, we sincerely think it is. However, don’t take our word for it. As with any great product, we’ve incorporated the feedback of 50+ early beta testers over 2+ years. Additionally, in our most recent anonymous satisfaction survey, 14 out of 15, “have already or would recommend to family and friends”. Check out the comments below and we think you’ll see we’re on to something great.

“One of my essential products is TICO* (I like to refer to it as “Hippie Cheeks”). I keep this product in my kit because it gives me a smooth, clean shave when I am in the back country and water is scarce.”
– Steve Demos – Founder White Wave, Inc. (Makers Of Silk Soymilk)

“Viscosity & Smoothness: 5+ stars…perfect thickness. Scent: 5 stars…very pleasant, I dig the spearmint/herbal combination. Skin Conditioning: 6+ stars!! You guys nailed it – face feels AWESOME.”
– Frank Marini

“You don’t understand how great it was to discover a product that made it possible for me to shave. I love the smell of TICO*. I would say that clarity, ease of use, smell and the comfort are the four best things about it.”
– Nick Dumortier – Austin, TX

“Absolutely love it! I have used it for only about two weeks and was a bit skeptical about it because my skin is SO sensitive to anything… my skin has never been better after a shave! I don’t think I’ve had a closer shave either!”
– Christopher Schneider – Houston, TX

Before I was involved in the company I was an early beta tester. I used the product for more than 6 months and loved it… the moment I was won over was when I realized how little shave oil it took to give me a great shave.”
– Travis McAshan – Spicewood, TX

Organic Grapeseed Oil (vitis vinifera)

Grapeseed Oil is a nutrient rich in vitamins, minerals and linoleic acid. It is very rich in vitamins D, C, E and beta-carotene, with a high concentration of essential fatty acids which have clinically proven to show reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, and also in minimizing scars. It is a light and wonderfully penetrating oil that is an excellent substitute for shaving creams that most often contain harsh chemicals. From the seeds of grapes, it contains many anti-oxidants and OPCs, aka oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes. In a nutshell, OPCs are free radical scavengers, but of greatest importance is the role OPC plays with regard to skin care as a stabilizer of collagen and the maintenance of elastin.

Organic Hemp Seed Oil (cannabis sativa)

Hemp seed oil is most likely best known for the plant that is comes from and least known for the amazing benefits it provides our skin. Hemp seed oil helps to prevent wrinkles and helps alleviate certain skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. It also helps to prevent moisture loss of the skin by acting as a barrier. This barrier rejuvenates the skin and acts as a lubricant while dead skin cells are being shed, as well as provides protection from razor nicks and cuts. Hemp seed oil has the natural ability to soften the skin and it possesses antioxidant properties, improves moisture retention, prevents tissue damage and premature aging of the skin.

Organic Olive Oil (olea europea)

It is often used for its ability to soothe inflamed skin from such ailments as eczema and psoriasis and to soften hard skin. One of the most wonderful attributes of olive oil is its ability to attract external moisture and keep it close to the skin while creating a natural and ‘breathable film’. The beauty here is that unlike synthetic products that are designed to provide these humectant actions, olive oil does not inhibit the natural functions of the skin such as sweating and the shedding of dead skin, nor does it stop the release of sebum – all necessary and natural functions of our skin.

Organic Jojoba Oil (simmondsia chinesis)

Technically jojoba oil is a wax, not an oil. Therefore it does not oxidize nor go rancid and has an extremely long shelf life. It is very similar to our skin’s own sebum, which is the oil that our skin naturally produces, making it easily and quickly absorbable and leaving the skin feeling very smooth. Jojoba oil is used commercially as a replacement for sperm whale oil, which is often used in the manufacture of cosmetics. It helps to restore the skin’s natural pH balance, lighten scars and other skin imperfections, while helping to diminish fine lines and stretch marks. Many use jojoba as their daily facial moisturizer and to help balance skin conditions from head to toe. Jojoba oil is also a natural antioxidant, offering antibacterial properties and making it a must in cosmetic formulas.

Organic Cranberry Seed Oil (vaccinium macrocarpon)

It penetrates easily and provides excellent moisture. It possesses strong antioxidant properties and has a long shelf life, making it resistant to oxidation and rancidity. Use of this oil in a formulation helps to stabilize other more fragile oils. Cranberry seed oil is an excellent aid for eczema, psoriasis and other skin irritations as it contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and is rich in tocepherols ( Vitamin E). Cranberry seed oil helps to replenish the lipid barrier, which adds smoothness and softness to the skin.

Organic Red Raspberry Seed Oil (rubus idaeus)

Red raspberry seed oil contains 83% essential fatty acids, making it an excellent antioxidant. Due to its high level of Vitamin E, it is known to provide skin conditioning by hydrating, repairing and nourishing the skin, as well as creating a lipid barrier which provides protection and moisture retention. Red raspberry seed oil is lubricating, emollient, soothing and provides anti-inflammatory actions. It is shown to regenerate skin cells, slow down premature aging, as well as reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and even fading scars.

Organic Neem Oil (azadirachta indica)

Neem oil contains triterpenes and tetranortriterpenes, giving the oil anti-inflammatory, antifungal and insect-repelling properties. The oil has a garlic-like odor and a yellow color. In its natural state, neem oil is a semi-solid and is usually combined with other ingredients in the manufacture of skin-care products. This oil is used extensively in India as an antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiparasitic and antiseptic agent in many personal products such as toothpaste, soaps and hair care products. Added to any base, neem oil will provide antibacterial actions. Studies have shown using neem oil at 1-5% does provide effective preservation.

Organic Spearmint Essential Oil (mentha spicata)

Spearmint essential oil provides many benefits to shaving oil, including astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory actions. With vasoconstrictor capabilities, spearmint calms the skin as well as provides soothing and cooling actions. It decongests the skin by calming irritation, itching and redness. It refines the pores and hydrates the skin, making it beneficial for dry skin and issues such as dermatitis and eczema.

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil (mentha piperita)

Peppermint essential oil also provides antibacterial, anti- infectious, antiseptic, astringent and anti- inflammatory actions. Just like its cousin spearmint oil, it helps to relieve itching, inflamed skin, cools and soothes with its vasoconstrictor properties. Since peppermint oil assists in increasing blood flow, it brightens dull looking skin. The menthol in peppermint is the constituent that helps to promote clear and healthy skin and helps reduce an overabundance of sebum, making it beneficial for the reduction of acne and clogged pores. While shaving with oil greatly reduces the likelihood of nicks and cuts, the antibacterial properties provided by the essential oils are critical.

Organic Rosemary Oleoresin Extract (rosmarinus officinalis)

An antioxidant not an essential oil, rosemary extract – also known as ROE – is included in our shaving oil for its ability to extend the shelf life of fixed oils. It is from the herb rosemary and is comprised of antioxidant compounds. Prior to refrigeration, people would wrap their meat in rosemary leaves in order to preserve it. Oxidation turns the fats in meat rancid and does the same to the oils in our skin. Rosemary Oleoesin works to significantly halt spoilage. It provides a bit of an herbaceous scent that blends nicely with the peppermint and spearmint essential oils.

Organic Vitamin E (tocopherol)

Vitamin E is an excellent antioxidant. Antioxidants are used in skin care products to neutralize free radicals before they ravage the skin. Free radicals have the ability to turn the oils of our skin rancid, which damages the collagen. When it was initially introduced into the skin care industry, vitamin E was used not only as an antioxidant but also as a moisturizer. It is therefore an immensely popular ingredient in many skin care products and truly does promote healthier skin. Along with it antioxidant properties, it is an emollient making the skin smoother and softer, and also helps reduce cracking, roughness and skin irritations.

    :

Best product on the market that eliminates the need for a separate shaving cream and aftershave….its all in one and not is works better for both uses but does it with all organic ingredients. It scares me to think what all the chemicals in shave gels and aftershaves are actually doing to the health of my skin. Thank you Tico for creating your own path instead of following he standard men’s shaving formula.

The reason for my choosing TICO Oil was simple. Lately, studies are getting published in regards to us killing ” good bacteria ( particularly Nitrosomonas bacteria )which are crawling on our body with soap and shampoo. There is tremendous rise in auto immune diseases in western world lately including vitiligo. Because of that reason, I decided to use as natural products as possible in regards to soap, shampoo, tooth powder and shaving cream/oil. When I started using TICO , I found it little uncomfortable for the first few days while shaving , but I kept using it and after using for a month, I don’t think that I will go back to shaving cream again. The product is costly and that is the reason I gave four star.

These guys have done it. They perfected shaving cream/lotion/oil. No more time should be spent trying to make a product better than this. You will be wasting time and money. Let’s just all agree that Tico is as good as a shaving aide can get and move on to other ventures.

I have switched to using shave oil (rather than gel) around 5 years ago, and have tried several brands. When TICO* came out, I ordered a bottle – just to support this new upstart… And have never tried anything else again.
TICO* is very light, refreshing, and ensures a very smooth shave.

The only stuff to use. The best. Simply. I use it daily, for 3 pass shaves. Works with Straight Razors, Safety Razors and Cartridge Razors. No need for brushes, scuttles, bowls. Or multi-coloured creams/soaps that seem to smell strongly of said colours! Also no need for moisturizer/aftershave balm. This oil does that. All you need is water. They recommend hot/warm, I prefer cold, still works great. Dead cool container, also dead handy, one squirt has the right amount of drops, Good for travel too. Has all the good things people like these days. All natural, organic and responsibly sourced. FDA approved. Thing is, these guys, the producers, actually mean it, they’ve been kinda living the life, which was what prompted the product. Their website/blog thingamagig is full of how to help the world, indigenous peoples and all that. Anyway the stuff is great. If all of the other Bonds had used this stuff, Sean Connery’s accent would’ve been par for the course with all of them. I recommend it to all ages and sexes. (although, I might panic and use a little extra myself if a woman came up to me sounding like Sean Connery).

Ok, not 42 but several….Pretty great product all around. I got a sample of another shave oil when I ran a race many moons ago. That company went out of business and I was ELATED to find this TICO product. Worth a try – totally a better way to shave and the best thing is….Travel Friendly for your carry-on.

I loved using Tico shave oil!! It provided a very smooth shave, absolutely NO razor burn, and a really nice moisture afterwards. I found that my legs felt so luxurious after using Tico shave oil that I didn’t want to use any other moisturizers. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

    :

I’ve been using Tico Shave Oil exclusively for a few months now, and it is a wonderful product. I really believe it is far superior to shaving cream, and it takes up a lot less space in the shaving kit when I travel (can go in a carry-on too). One squirt is all it takes to get as really close and comfortable shave. It’s worth the time to learn to shave in the shower, by the way (I’ve been doing that for more than 50 years). The moisture from the shower keeps your beard very soft and easy to shave. Try just one bottle of Tico. I’ll bet you’ll become the repeat customer I am, Note that I bought my present supply direct from Tico, before this product was listed on Amazon. Having it available on Amazon makes it all the better.

I really love this stuff. It smells natural and amazing and I get a close, lubricated shave every time. I also enjoy not having to use any after shave / moisturizing products. A great all-in-one solution for sure.

Really lovely stuff. Smells amazing – certainly not overly floral or musky, but actually kind of herbal and even minty? Just great. I use it and so does my husband. The texture is thick, not thin and runny like some oils. Makes my legs feel like BUTTAH!

    :

Tico* is the real deal! When I shave with shaving cream – it’s a shave. When I shave with Tico* – it’s an experience. The razor zips along with less friction and the mild fragrance lingers so I can skip the aftershave. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, there’s no alcohol burn too. My wife also loves the stuff and raves about the low-impact packaging.

    :

This is the BEST shaving oil in the world. I purchased this and couldn’t wait to try it. The first time I used it I was sold. NO razor burns. Super clean shave. Usually I can’t get a good shave unless I go two days without shaving, not with TICO I could shave 2-3 times a day and not get razor burn. I have told everyone I know about this stuff. I will definitely buy more. It lasts a long time too.

Use it every time I shave, and it leaves me with a lasting close-shave feeling all day. And, I shave my entire head, which is normally a task for other lotions.
